PAPER FACTORY REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM

 Kartonsan
Paper Factory co-generation plant requires 1000 m3/d de-mineralized water which
is obtained by Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems.
Chlorine is injected at inlet
of the system for disinfection and to oxidize iron and manganese in the raw water.
The chlorinated water is being fed into the sand filters.
Iron and manganese
concentration is very high in the raw water. Some of these ions are removed in
the sand filter. The remaining iron and manganese ions are removed by the help
of manganese filters which is placed before RO system. Filtered water is sent
to the RO system after injection of necessary chemicals.
CO2 increases
with acid injection in the raw water. But RO membrane doesn't remove CO2. So,
Reverse Osmosis System product water is being passed through degassifier unit
for CO2 treatment.
At the end, the treated water is being passed through
polishing softeners since very low hardness is required for make-up water
